In a move
that would make Stephen Colbert
blush, Texas Republicans took another bold step yesterday -- they
created yet another controversial
Super PAC.
Rob Johnson,
the Republican political operative who managed Rick Perry's failed
campaign for President, announced yesterday
that he's created the so-called "Texas Conservatives Fund" --
a Super PAC supporting Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst's campaign
for United States Senate. Johnson was a long-time "top aide"
to Dewhurst, and even managed his campaign for Lieutenant Governor in
the past. This is the other side's idea of "independent"
PACs!
I need your help
to fight against these Super PACs, and return
fiercely independent leadership and Texas integrity to the
United States Senate. Your contribution of $25, $50 or $100
today will help my campaign spread our
message of returning our U.S. Senate seat to its rightful owners -- the
people of Texas.
Believe it
or not, this makes at least four secretive,
controversial Super PACs supporting the various Republican candidates
in this campaign. How many Super PACs do the Republicans think are
enough? How many shadowy political groups do they need to cover their
record of failed leadership?
Please stand
up today and join our fight.
Together, we will make a better Texas.
