From the left, Jan Wiegman, Dee Stephens and Beth Warkentin with their mother, Marie Wiegman.
Beth, Dee and Jan are three sisters who have worked out a unique system of caring for their mother. Marie, 93, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2002, and lived with both Beth and Dee before she moved into the Nacogdoches nursing home where she currently resides. The Oklahoma native worked for Montgomery Ward in Amarillo for many years, and when the Chicago-based retailer closed its doors for good in 2001, pulling its retiree benefits, Marie and her daughters were forced to find her alternate means of health care coverage.
