10/19: Viva morning hosts sue Regular Guys

yogi panda.jpg Here’s the Viva morning show (Juan is on the left)

Juan Tapia (Yogi) and Jose Carias (Panda), the morning show for Viva 105.7, filed a lawsuit in Fulton Superior Court this week against Clear Channel Broadcasting and the Regular Guys, Larry Wachs and Eric Von Haessler. The lawsuit is currently in transit between the north annex and downtown and I was not able to procure a copy but I’ll post info about it as soon as I get it. But clearly, this is why the Regular Guys were suspended Tuesday.

If anything, this confirms that this was not an FCC matter but truly an “internal” matter between sister radio station personalities.

The Regular Guys recently did a bit in which Larry taped Yogi & Panda in the bathroom and aired it but I’m not sure if that was the primary reason for the lawsuit.

Yogi and Panda’s attorney Christopher Taylor told me Thursday night that he agreed with Clear Channel not to release a press release and statement until Friday afternoon. But he promised to email me a scan of the lawsuit Friday morning.

As someone who is CONNECTED at ClearChannel… YESSSS… all employees are checked out thoroughly. As a matter of fact, out of the 4 people in that horrible picture of the morning show crew, 3 are U.S. BORN American citizens and one of them is a PERMANENT LEGITIMATE Resident Alien. So.. before everyone goes on their schpiel regarding illegal aliens… sorry, but not THESE guys. Too bad.

What a couple of assclowns! Come on, you can’t take a friendly joke from your radio comrades? What the hell is wrong with these two ingrates? They come here to America and enjoy success on the radio and now they’re acting like some money grubbing ambulance chasers! Sounds like a get rich quick scheme. The RG’s have a huge fan base here and if they get fired because of these beaners, the sh*t’s gonna hit the fan amigos.

I’ve been asked to give testimony in this matter, but I told them I was too busy bad mouthing Clear Channel and sharing their trade secrets with every radio station in town in a desparate effort to avoid employment in the fast food industry.

This is all Clear Channel needs, right on top of the class action lawsuit about to be filed regarding the Bloomquist email.

I’ve seen hispanic folks come and go here at CChannel and within 4 days, if their SS# analysis doesn’t match, they’re out. Sales people, programming, promotions part-timers.. you name it, I’ve seen ‘em come and go. And I’ll say this much. Viva is the ONLY CC Atlanta station doing well. Their morning show is 2nd only to V103’s Frank Ski. Hmmm, we need more MEXICANS like that. Bringing in the CASH. The Regular Guys are biting the hand that feeds them. They forgot the saying that goes..”Don’t SH*T where you EAT.”

Herman.. are you retarded or what? This was a matter of covertly recording someone’s conversation and airing it. Sure, TRG’s audience is no more than — um, let’s say about 937 people. But still, chrome-dome Larry should have known better. What an idiot. Seriously, had he done this to a black or white co-worker, same thing would have gone down. And if the viva guys are suing CC it’s probably because Larry and Eric have been negligent in the past. Remember? The porn stunt, etc… and much more internal stuff we probably don’t know about. Besides, I was born and raised in Atlanta and they still suck. Always have… and you guys thought SS Shirley/Steve was ignorant. ha!

Too bad the Regular Guys are going away again. It’ll probably be for good this time. Guess I’ll check out this “new morning X” that everyone’s talking about. Bye bye TRG.

Loyality aside, what the Regular Guys did was outrageous. It’s almost as bad as sending out a company-wide email where all blacks are portrayed as weapon packing drug dealers…oh wait I just got through doing that.

To Dumbass Derrick, Dude, you are one stuck up little douchebag. 937 fans? Please, there were more than that at the golf tournanment alone. You obviously are a disenfranchised listener of one the the shows the RG’s vanquished. You’re probably one of the 5 Bob and Tom fans or you could be a morning excrement fan. Either way, supporting sue happy beaners just to get rich quick is pathetic.
